Mission Statement
The mission of the Gilbert Horse Owners Association is to promote and support horse ownership and enjoyment through education, special events, community outreach and activities for horse owners and the community at large.

Education
Monthly general membership meetings to include educational speakers on topics of interest. Examples: what to do if your horse falls into a canal; trail ride safety; how to safely extract a horse after an accident involving a trailer; trailer maintenance; saddle fitting, West Nile updates; first aid for horses; equine insurance; hoof maintenance.

Special Events
Examples: yearly swap meets; dinners; clinics.

Community Outreach
Promote the association and better the understanding of horses and riding safety in our community. Example venues: Gilbert Days; Mayor’s New Year’s Eve Party; sponsor horse-related activities for at-risk or low-income children; FFA involvement.

Activities
Provide ways for horse owners to further their enjoyment and meet others with the same interests. Examples: horse shows; trail rides; play days; etc. etc.
